Picking the right self defense ammo for night fire

When we did the night test we used 9mm, We used 21 different loads

We also used 3 guns with each of the ammo's tested

A J-Frame 9mm Taurus Stubnose
A Astra 9mm Compact A-70 3.5 inch Barrel
A Sig 226 4.5 inch barrel

We shot in the dark, we had some moonlight, the closet light was behind us & over 100 yds away.
