Gun shot wounds
I just got back from a gun shot wound course put on by a local doctor who has specifically studied gun shot wounds first hand. The course was put on for the RPD SWAT Team and I was allowed to attend because of my connections with the PD. The course was a pretty interesting. What I found particularly interesting was the fact that he was talking about ballistics and that a higher velocity bullet although will cause more damage than a slower moving bullet. So, if you have a 9mm moving at 1200fps or even faster for +P ammo, it is likely to do more damage than a larger bullet, say a .45 moving at 900fps. Of course, there are a lot of variables involved, but he used it as the “guideline”.
