In testing different personal protection ammo, I found TAP & Federal to have fairly low muzzle flash in low light shooting.
I also tested some LEO +P+ & found it to be nearly blinding, in very low light conditions |

MAD DUCK,
Just a few questions if you don't mind. 1. What caliber(s) were you shooting? 2. What was the barrel length of the guns you were shooting? 3. What time of day were you shooting? Was it fairly dark out like 10:00pm? 4. Is the TAP ammo expensive?

Mad Duck,
Good info. The only problem I have is with my Dept issued Glock 22. Our dept went with the ported model. I have not clue why. Best I can come up with is they thought it was cool. When I shoot at night, that thing shoot a flame you could cook a steak on. Anyway, we do use the TAP ammo. However for training we use low grade ammo. It will blind you every time. Troy |

When we did the night test we used 9mm, We used 21 different loads
We also used 3 guns with each of the ammo's tested A J-Frame 9mm Taurus Stubnose A Astra 9mm Compact A-70 3.5 inch Barrel A Sig 226 4.5 inch barrel We shot in the dark, we had some moonlight, the closet light was behind us & over 100 yds away. The TAP is no more expensive than any of the other Self Defense Ammos |
